Mujune — The Story Behind the Song

Jason Miller, Garrett Miller- Network

Mujune — pronounced Moo-Joo-Nay — means “to serve those in need” in the local language. The song has taken a rather unexpected journey to become what it is today.

In May 2026, while working in Uganda, I visited a school and rescue center called Sacred Orphan and Vulnerable Children Aid. As soon as I arrived, I was surrounded by incredible children and staff who welcomed us by singing this song as they escorted us through the village.

I happened to have my Meta Glasses recording at the time. The melody immediately caught my attention. It was one of those tunes that simply stayed with me — I found myself humming it throughout the rest of my visit and for days afterward.

I sent a message to Garrett in California and told him about the song and how much I wanted to build something around the melody. We decided to take the recording and work on it together when I returned to the studio in July.

After extracting the original singing from the Meta Glasses footage, we spent several weeks composing, arranging, and producing the track. What began as a simple song sung by children in a small Ugandan village eventually became this electronic Network-inspired version.

We decided to call the song Mujune, in honor of the school and the meaning behind the name.

I plan to donate a portion of the proceeds from the song to the school each year. Realistically, we all know it takes millions of streams to generate a significant amount of money, but that isn’t really the point. I want to support the school because of the incredible work they are doing for children in need.

At some point, I’ll also share the original Meta Glasses video so you can see where the song began.

So, from a village in Uganda to a studio in California, this is Mujune — a song that started with a simple welcome and became something much bigger than I ever expected.

I hope you enjoy it.
